Thomas and Eliza were married in the National Schoolroom, which had been licensed during the repair of the parish church. Witnesses to the wedding were William and Emma Wootton (most likely Thomas’ brother and sister). Eliza was illiterate (signed the register as Eliza Ellis, her X mark.
