Board & Shield is a 2 - 4 player competitive arena game in which players take control of radical skateboarding chevaliers and participate in the time-honored traditional hastilude of jousting.
Board & Shield is a 3D competitive game based around skateboarding to build up enough speed to land a killing blow on your opponent with your lance. If you don’t have enough speed, you’ll simply bounce off and kill your own momentum, leaving you a sitting duck for someone else to swoop in on you. Games will carry on until a player wins three rounds. Every round will be set on a five-minute timer to keep players from dawdling as well. After the timer runs out, a crown will appear and players will compete in a deathmatch to hold the crown for 1 minute. The game’s two most important aspects are movement and level design. As the playable characters are functionally identical, maneuverability based on the environment will be the core determining factor of who wins and who loses. Players must adapt to their surroundings to take advantage of level design to build up speed, avoid hazards, and take out their opponents. Players are able to perform tricks to build up speed, use a boost to increase speed, and perform the coffin to dodge attacks.
