Virtual Medical Assistant

Project Title

Virtual Medical Assistance (VMA) is a mobile application that will guide and help patients through procedures. VMA is targeted to outpatients that require medical procedures that can be done in small clinics. At smaller clinics, you don’t get as much attention as hospitals. Patients will be able to view how their procedures will be done. The application will have instructions, dietarian descriptions, appointment reminders, Q&A, ability to contact clinics, post procedures follow-ups, and also be maps/directions to the clinic. For our initial procedures, we will focus on colonoscopy and endoscopy. The initial clinic will be Bux-Mont Gastroenterology & Endoscopy Center, where our stakeholder is located. Beside the VMA mobile application, there will be a web application that caters to the internal staff. The web application will help internal staff streamline some of their processes such as patients pre-operation check-in, setting up appointments that connects to the mobile application, and receiving/viewing patient surveys.
