2017-2018 Senior Project - PanTrack

PanTrack Logo

The average household in the United States throws away roughly $2,200 worth of grocery products annually due to food spoiling before it is consumed. Food often spoils before it is consumed because the consumer forgets he/she has the product. PanTrack provides the ability for consumers to track the food in their refrigerators and pantries, in hopes of reducing food waste. PanTrack has three main features: capturing product information using the barcode, determining the expiration date based on image input, and sending push notitifcations to the user when products are nearing expiration. These days, consumers are looking more and more to technology to find solutions to their everyday problems; PanTrack provides the ability to mitigate one of these problems that many households run into.
