1841 Willliam is living in Market Place, Ashby de la Zouch, with 2nd wife Elizabeth (35) and daughters Mary (14), Rose (9), Sarah (5) and Elizabeth (1), son William (3), and Jane Beadsmore (9) (possibly his sister-in-law).162

1851 William (48) is living in Brook Side, Ashby de la Zouch, married to Elizabeth (46) with children William (13), Elizabeth (10), Tom (8) and Sarah (16) (following page).160

1861 William (58) is living in Cattle Market, Ashby de la Zouch, apparently widowed, with 2 daughters --Rosa (28) & Elizabeth (21) and grandson Harry (2). 163

1871 William (67) is living at 1 Mill Lane, Ashby de la Zouch, with daughter Elizabeth (27) and granddaughter Bertha (4)164

1881 William (78) is living at 11 Brook Side, Ashby de la Zouch, with daughter Elizabeth (35) and (grand)daughter Bertha (14). [Bertha is listed as “daughter” in census but this is not accurate.]165

In 1838 William and Elizabeth were living in Ashby de la Zouch, in Dewe’s Yard, Market Street.

In 1883 (at William’s death), they were living at 11 Brook Side, Ashby de la Zouch. Daughter Elizabeth Wootton reported the death. Cause of death was “senile decay.” Death certificate gives age as 79, which puts birth in 1802.
