Utilizing a Plan of Study
A plan of study is useful when determining which courses to take
and when and it can also be use to track your progress to
graduation. While MS(LIS) Students can take one or more courses per
term it is not recommended that a student enroll in more than four
classes in a given quarter. The information below are guidelines
for you to tailor to your full or part time status.
Registering in DrexelOne
You must confirm your acceptance at CCI before the end of the
first week of classes or you will be unable to enroll is courses
during your Admission term. Also, if you have not yet activated
account, you will want to do that as
soon as possible so that you can register for classes online.
All students must register themselves for classes via DrexelOne
To register for classes: Login to DrexelOne, Select "Students" tab, Select
"Add/Drop Classes" under the Registration heading, Select
"Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer Quarter" and then enter the 5-digit CRN
(course reference number) and click "Submit Changes". You can view
all courses via the term master schedule link in DrexelOne.
Requesting a Prerequisite Waiver
t is very important to pay close attention to any
prerequisite courses that you may need to fulfill, especially in
selecting your free electives. If you attempt to register for a
course in DrexelOne and have not satisfied the prerequisite, you
will receive a registration error.
If you would like to take a class and have not yet satisfied
the prerequisite, you can request written permission to enroll in
the course. Approval to waive the prerequisite may be dependent on
your academic and work history. If you are requesting a
prerequisite waiver request for a required course it does not
exempt you from completing that course in the future.
Once your waiver request has been reviewed, you will be
contacted by your Advisor
. If you have received permission to
enroll in a course without a prerequisite, your Advisor will assist
you with registration. Written approval is required prior to
Registration Errors in DrexelOne
If you receive an error during registration, please contact your
Advisor for assistance.
Students are responsible for clearing any holds on their student
accounts. Students are not permitted to register for classes if
their account is on hold. Advisors cannot override a hold status. In
addition, a seat in a course cannot be set aside for any student
while a hold is pending. Please contact the appropriate University
office (bursar, financial aid, etc) to clear any holds prior to
Closed (full) Sections
Once a course section is full, it will be closed and no
additional registrations will be accepted for that section. In DrexelOne, this course will also no longer
appear as a registration option. Advisors are not permitted to override full
course sections. If a seat does open in a closed section, the
course will once again be available for registration on a first
come, first serve basis.
Courses are capped at a maximum number of students to ensure
that the student to faculty ratio provides for a high quality
educational experience. In addition, oncampus facilities do have
fire codes that cannot be violated.
Course registration can be competitive and many classes,
especially popular electives, are in high demand. Therefore, it is
important to register as soon as your time ticket opens.
If a waitlist is available for a closed (full) course, students
have the option to add themselves to the waitlist through DrexelOne. If a seat then opens in the course,
the first student on the waitlist is notified via Drexel Email and
has 24 hours to register for the course in DrexelOne. If no action is taken after 24
hours, the first student is removed from the waitlist and the
second student is then notified of the open seat. Students are not
notified when they are removed from a waitlist after not
registering within 24 hours.
Students can remove themselves from any waitlist at any time
. Should a student remove themselves
from a waitlist and then re-waitlist themselves to the course, they
will be placed last on the waitlist.
