Digital Libraries Concentration

This concentration covers a range of topics in digital resources, collections and services. It can serve as a bridging concentration accessible to MSIS students and several courses are a part of the MSIS curriculum.

Graduates of the Digital Libraries Concentration:

  • Act as enhance service providers for digital collections in libraries
  • Act as metadata specialists for digital libraries
  • Become digital reference librarians, interface designers, or webmasters in libraries and other organizations
  • Serve as negotiators for copyrights and digital collection licensing between libraries and content providers
  • Serve as a liaison for software developers and library staff
  • Develop projects in digital collection development and metadata evaluation
  • Lead libraries in the development of innovative services with emerging technologies
